When you think of surgery, what comes to mind?
For most people, it is a mystery that they fear more than they understand. The image is elite and stiff. The language is complex. Even from the inside, it can at times feel inaccessible.
As the field of surgery evolves, so must its brand and communication. We need to be able to talk about any subject openly and plainly, in a way that captivates. Our exchange of ideas should be diverse and non-hierarchical. That's why in the Spring of 2022, we started The Modern Surgeon as the field's first media brand.
We produce content that sparks conversations across many topics such as wellness, culture, performance, family, fitness, nutrition, ergonomics, and sleep, using multimedia and social media to engage with the general public and younger generations. Some ideas are pragmatic. Some are purely creative. All of them are free and timely.
